Our Accomplishments

Our Top Three Accomplishments

Reducing Crime

- Violent crime has significantly been reduced since Bill took office in 2017

- Areas like Sablewood have seen major reductions in criminal activity

- Reducing blight has kept drug homes and overdose activity down

Investing in our Neighborhoods

-When Bill took office, there were over 100 blighted and condemned homes in the 9th Ward, significantly reducing our property values

- Now, homes are receiving upgrades and "flying" off of our Realtor's lists

- Bill has committed record amounts of streets improvements for the 9th Ward

             - Auburn Street is getting $13 million in repairs

             - West Riverside will see over $3 million in road repairs

-Through advocacy and collaboration, we have two new grocery operations in the ward in Aldi and Lowcost. While these are just stepping stones for further business development, efforts from the city helped attract these grocers

Rebuilding Our Community

- Bill approved the largest ever housing development in the history of our city and will continue this trend as your alderman

- Bill advocated and accomplished through collaboration the demolition of multiple buildings impeding growth of our town, including Essex and the former Nursing home on North Main Street

Other Accomplishments (Bill Supported)

- Hard Rock Casino - 100% Union Built

- Rockford Promise - offering over 200 students full ride scholarships annually

- Expansion of marijuana dollars to low income neighborhoods

- Barber Colman - Rockford's largest ever housing development

- Rockford Peaches Museum support

- Redevelopment of the Armory into an Arts Hub

- Expansion of arts installs into Ward 9 along Huffman Blvd.

- Increased Street repairs, Sidewalks, and Bike Lanes

- Street Light Installs and Updates (saving taxpayers millions)

Most importantly, Bill did all of this work without raising our taxes. His fiscally responsible votes have put Rockford on the road to better financial health, even with growing pension concerns. Bill Rose knows that Rockford is far better off than most communities because of our financial prowess and investments that give back to our taxpayers.
